Population: officially there are no permanent residents. But there is a variable number of vacationers in the houses of El Puertito. It is fully protected by a natural park, the Parque Natural del Islote de Lobos.

The island is named after the sea lions, the name by which they used to call the current monk seal or friar seal (Monachus monachus), which inhabited this islet with a huge colony, probably the largest in the Canary Islands, a few centuries ago .

Isla de Lobos is a small island located northeast of Fuerteventura (Canary Islands, Spain), just 15-20 minutes by boat from Corralejo.

There are several ways to get to Isla de Lobos:

Lobos Group Line

The boats that connect Corralejo with “Lobos Island” on a daily basis are: “Isla Lobos”, “El Majorero”, and “Celia Cruz”. There is the option of hiring an excursion to go around the island by boat or to spend a day of aquatic enjoyment anchored in its waters.

Lineas Romero

There is the possibility of hiring an excursion to Lobos Island from Playa Blanca (Lanzarote) with Lineas Romero, a tour of the Bocaina Strait that is enjoyable when waiting for an islet of unusual corners and unique beaches

Water taxis

There are companies with small boats with flexible hours to take people to catch waves or to get to the dock of Lobos Island.

Wear what is comfortable. It is recommended to have a sturdy pair of trail shoes, boots or sneakers. It is preferable to dress in layers and wear clothing that absorbs perspiration and keeps you dry and comfortable.

Yes. Reservations are required for guaranteed spots on all tours. Reservations help us determine the number of guides we need to ensure our groups remain manageable and enjoyable, and allow us to notify you of changes to the tour due to weather or anything that may disturb the tours.

Weather

We go out in the rain, the wind and any other weather condition that nature decides to throw at us. After all, we are going on adventures! If the weather is not safe for any reason, the trip will be changed or postponed. You will be notified the week of your trip if there are changes due to weather.
